Tin Iglesias

Nuffnang Featured Blogger for the Month of January 2011

I am Tin Iglesias. I am currently taking up a BS degree in Clothing Technology at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. I am a fashion blogger, a freelance writer, stylist, illustrator and an aspiring fashion designer. I am also a contributor for Malaysia-based website, Tongue in Chic.

My blog, Fashion Ate the World, is a chronicle of my sense of style and my love for fashion and art. It was designed to inspire and uplift individuals, and it seeks to embody and embrace all that is fun and fashionable.

I think I’ll never be short of something to blog about because the fashion industry is huge. Expect more event coverages, artistically-taken photographs, and the like.  Unique ideas are constantly being generated.

I started to discover fashion blogs and style networking sites about three years ago, and decided to join Chictopia.com and Lookbook.nu. However, beyond the outfit posts, I felt like I wanted a creative outlet that would let me connect with other people interested in fashion and art. I wanted to go into more detail on why I was putting together my outfits. Moreover, I wanted to showcase my designs and photographs. Accordingly, I created my blog last May 2009 to give the people an all-around view of my world.

I always try my best to post fresh content regularly, maintain the standard of writing and quality of topics I’ve already established, and make it fun and interesting. I have myself and that’s what potentially makes my blog different from other blogs.

I don’t only blog about my outfits, but I also post my sketches, creations, DIYs, and inspirational photos, among others. It enables me to gain a wider readership because there’s a little something that almost everyone, optimistically, can appreciate.

The best thing about being a blogger is that it has led me to meet new people I would have otherwise never met; some of whom are now my closest friends. I also receive fashion event invitations, coupons, discounts, freebies, and collaboration proposals from local and international fashion brands and fellow bloggers from time to time. It’s all fun!
