Last November 21, JOHNSON’S® Baby held an event for moms and single female bloggers at the Conservatory, Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City. The event, titled JOHNSON’S® Baby Bedtime Discoveries: Bedtime A to Zzz’s, aimed to share with bloggers the importance of baby sleep and ways to help babies get that good night’s rest.

Dr. Luis Rivera, a Fellow of the Philippine Society for Sleep Medicine, shared how important sleep is for a baby’s early development. It is during this time at night that a child is most receptive to growth: three times more growth hormones are released by baby’s body during good baby sleep. Thus the importance of keeping babies undisturbed and well-rested through these hours.

This is why JOHNSON’S® Baby came up with a 3-Step Bedtime Routine clinically proven to help parents give their babies better sleep. The routine was demonstrated by midwives, which the bloggers could try out as well. The routine is as follows:

Step 1. A warm bath with J&Js baby wash.

Step 2. Massage (with J&Js baby lotion).

Step 2. A soothing massage to relax baby.

Step 3. Some quiet time for the baby with J&Js baby powder.

After demonstrating the 3-Step Bedtime Routine, the blogger attendees shared stories on how their experiences were in caring for their baby’s sleep during the early stages of their development. The bloggers’ personal experiences were very interesting and informative in that other parents in attendance were also able to learn from these.

JOHNSON’S® Baby, in line with their vision of assisting parents through the experience of giving their babies the best possible sleep through their early years, released the Johnson’s Baby Bedtime website through BabyCenter. The website features a ton of information on baby sleep, tips on how to enrich the experience for parents and babies alike, as well as tools to help parents give their babies better sleep. The bloggers explored the website themselves, browsing through the customizable Sleep Profiler and the new Sleep Diary tools.

By the end of the event, the attendees were enriched by the discoveries shared by Dr. Rivera, the live demonstration of the 3-Step Bedtime Routine, as well as the introduction to the JOHNSON’S® Baby Bedtime website. The attendees were welcomed into the Bedtime Believer community, an advocacy shared by JOHNSON’S® Baby to spread the importance of faster growth during good baby sleep.
