Last Saturday, Mommy bloggers and their kids were gathered for one cause: to prevent getting the flu by getting vaccinated.
Bakunado sa FLU: Awareness Seminar was held last Saturday, January 24, from 10:00 to 1:00 pm at Sanofi Pasteur, Feliza Bldg. in Makati City. Chosen mommy and daddy bloggers from the Nuffnang network were invited to attend the seminar so they could listen in and afterwards spread the facts they learned about FLU.

The seminar started with opening remarks from Nuffnang’s General Manager, Geraldine Malagueno.

After watching their favourite animated films, kids sat down beside their mommies and daddies and listened to Dr. Ruby Mendoza – Dizon, who discussed important information about the flu that we should know about.

Dr. Ruby Mendoza – Dizon talked about the common symptoms of the FLU, and the implications of getting infected with the virus. At the end of the lecture, she also showed a video of mothers who lost their children because of the FLU.
After the lecture, Dr. Ruby Mendoza – Dizon asked for the bravest soul in the crowd – who would be the first one to get vaccinated? This little boy stood up, said he was the bravest, and decided to go first:

He still needed to be embraced by his dad to endure the injection.
The rest of the kids and their parents followed in getting vaccinated.

It was great to have gained knowledge about the FLU, especially on how it can really harm us all. Nobody wants his or her loved ones to suffer from any kind of disease, so get you and your family vaccinated! After all, getting vaccinated is one of the best ways to prevent getting the FLU!
